Hate the red in the bottom section so will be redoing that tomorrow. Cant figure out what to do with the bottom section of the boob holder color wise.
These are some work in progress pictures from just before I started this blog. You can see how everything has progressed from the initial drawings pieced together from concept art through to complex three dimensional shapes.
To begin with most pieces don’t look all too impressive as just their silhouette but I always get excited to see the pieces at this stage; it is the first physical step for a prop on it’s way to becoming a finished piece. It is also a wonderful indication of size, heft, and overall presence.
I often draw non-standardised scribbles and markings on my props work and often end up with multiple lines. These are shorthand notes to myself about how something should work, corrections to existing lines or indication that more work needs to be done in shaping something. I will usually continue to mark and remark my pieces until I am finally happy with the shape.
The other thing I would like to note is that if I have to remake a prop I always try and make that decision before I’ve put too much effort into a piece. The throwing axe needed to be resized but I had only gotten to roughing out the shape so it wasn’t too much of a loss of time and effort. I would rather redo a piece from scratch and be happy with the finished outcome than stick with a piece I know I won’t be happy with.
This lady is a big inspiration to me!
